Introduction to Basic Composition
Focal Point: A strong focus point is essential to any effective composition because it
directs the viewer's attention to the most significant parts of your work
                                   first.

Scale & Hierarchy: By pointing attention towards and away from particular aspects and
denoting their significance to the communication, scale is frequently
utilised to assist in communicating hierarchy.

Balance the Elements: Recognising that every element has a certain 'weight' will help
you learn asymmetrical balance. Elements with a lot of texture
may weigh' more than those with flat colours, while smaller
things may 'weigh' less than larger ones.

White Space: White space, also referred to as 'empty space', is used in compositions to
counterbalance the main subject. The use of white space can enhance the
clarity and overall appearance of your design by providing a breathing
area between the busier and more complex elements of your composition.

Rule of Thirds
The Rule of Thirds is the process of dividing an image into thirds, using two horizontal
and two vertical lines. This imaginary grid yields nine parts with four intersection
            points.

Images will appear much more natural if the focal points are positioned at these
intersecting places. Additionally, it is advised that any horizon be positioned on either
the top or bottom horizontal lines.

The Rule of Thirds is a way to:

            -  Make use of compositional strategies that complement what the eye finds visually

                appealing

            -  Creatively use negative space

            -  Create conversation between the subject and background

Golden Ratio
A mathematical ratio known as the Golden Ratio. It is frequently seen in nature, and
when used to design, it encourages the creation of visually appealing compositions that
            seem organic and natural.

The Golden Ratio in design is essentially about aesthetics: using harmony and
balance and recognise beauty. The Golden Ratio lends an artistic quality to designs
            when used in them.

The Golden Ratio is a useful guideline for determining dimensions of the layout. One
very simple way to apply the Golden Ratio is to set your dimensions to 1:1.618

Practical

For this task, we had to make Collage Design Elements. First we had to watch the
youtube video provided by Mr. Martin. The task was to get old magazines to make 3
different compositions to show Mr. Fauzi.

After submitting my compositions and letting Mr. Fauzi see my work, he chose
composition #2 for me to glue it down onto the cardboard.
