Week 1
FLIP 1 (Different Types of Infographics & Online Tools)
Individual Task (Redesign a Poorly Constructed Infographic Poster)
For our individual task, we were instructed to pick one free online infographic tool and
re-design one poorly constructed infographic poster. We should also record the process
into our blog and present the before the redesigned infographics with before and after
comparison.
I found this poorly constructed infographic poster 'Biggest Future Changes in the
Workplace?' on visme.co.

Issues:
- Percentage don't add up
- Colours are clashing - Way too many things happening

Figure 1.2 First Attempt of Re-designing the Infographic Poster |
For my redesign, I wanted to make the poster minimalistic. I used the 'Donut Chart'
provided by Canva to create the graph in the middle. In my opinion, since I'm someone
who has not used or explore Canva before, it was slightly confusing to figure out where
everything was. In my first attempt, it was too plain and there were many spaces that
can be filled with elements provided from Canva.

Figure 1.3 Final Attempt of Re-designing the Infographic Poster |
In my final attempt, I wanted to add some workforce related illustration but as I don't
have Canva Pro, the illustrations that were available to me are limited. In the end, I
decided to add some squiggles to fill the empty spaces.

Online Infographic Tool: Canva
Personal Rating & Review of Online Tool (Canva)
Difficulty, Intuitiveness - 3/5
Canva might be slightly confusing for new users, but overall simple since everything is
already available for you on the website.
Usefulness - 4/5
Usefulness - 4/5
Canva is very useful for finding textures or illustration. It saves you hours of finding
something you need, but usually the best illustrations are only available for Canva Pro.
Design Templates, Choices - 4.5/5
Design Templates, Choices - 4.5/5
There are various templates provided by Canva and you can find basically any aesthetic
of type of templates you are looking for.
