INSTRUCTIONS

TASK 3

Task 3 : Brand Positioning & Applications

Task 3 is a continuation of Task 2, where we have to:
             - Write a logo rationale
             - Mention keywords articulated in the brand profile that describe the brands core-
                values
             - Create a mood board (colour, visual and typography)

Brand Positioning

Applications (Corporate Stationary)
             Envelope :
Figure 2.1 Draft Envelope Mockup

Ms. Lilian said that my envelope was good, it matches my brand. (classy/elegant).

             Business Card :

Figure 2.3 Draft Business Card Mockup

Like the previous feedback Ms. Lilian gave, the business card matches my brand again
and she said that she liked the emboss effect of the double Ds in the background.

Figure 2.4 Final Business Card Mockup

In the final mockup, I just made the front and back of the cards bigger as I felt that it
            was way too small.

             Invoice :

Figure 2.5 Invoice Draft Design

In the feedback I received from Ms. Lilian, she said that I used too many typefaces and
it doesn't match the fonts I've used previously in the business card. She also said that
there was no need to include the payment method and that I should try to fill the
            bottom of the page more.

Figure 2.7 Final Invoice Mockup

In the final mockup, I've changed the fonts to match my business card, removed
payment method and made the terms and conditions relevant to my brand. I also made
the website at the bottom bold.

             Letterhead :

Figure 2.8 Letterhead Draft Design

For my letterhead, Ms. Lilian said that the top looks too empty and that I could do
better than that to improve it. Just like the invoice, she said that I've used too many
irrelevant typefaces and that I should make all the typefaces the same.

In the final mockup, I've included both of my logos, which definitely makes it looks
more sophisticated in a way. All the typefaces matches the ones used in the other
            mockups as well.

Applications (Collateral)
             Perfume Bottle :

Figure 3.1 Final Perfume Bottle Mockup

Figure 3.2 Close-Up of Perfume Label

Since my brand sells perfume, of course I would need to design a perfume bottle, but it
was quite difficult for me to find a perfume mockup that looked minimalistic and was
also free. But eventually, I did come across the perfect one.

To match the all the emboss effect going on in most of my designs already, I decided to
make the perfume label the same effect as well.

             Perfume Box :

Figure 3.3 Final Perfume Box Mockup

Figure 3.4 Close-Up for Perfume Box Design

To match the perfume bottle, I created a perfume box mockup with the same emboss
effect all over the box, making it look classy and timeless. I wanted to choose an image
that matches my brand name 'Dew & Dusk' but I couldn't find one that fit into the
brand's aesthetic, so I settled for the next best thing.

             Paper Bag :

Figure 3.5 Final Paper Bag Mockup

Figure 3.6 Close-Up for Paper Bag Design

I wanted the bag to have an expensive feel to it, kinda like bags you would get when you
purchase from a luxury store. Instead of doing an emboss effect like the other designs, I
opted for a more glossy look which makes the bag have an expensive feel.

             Wrapping Tissue Paper :

To go pair with the paper bag, I decided to use one of my patterns derived from my
            logo, taken from task 2.

Figure 5.5 Poster Inspiration

I wanted to make the poster have a timeless and luxurious feel like the ones shown
above. For my perfume mockup to blend in properly with the image I chose, I played
around with the levels and curves in photoshop until I got the results I was satisfied
            with.

I also added a shadow by using an eclipse > effects > gaussian blur below the perfume
for more dimensions to the poster.

FEEDBACK

Week 7
Specific Feedback: Ms. Lilian liked the emboss on the business card, but since I
should finish everything else (website, merch etc by week 9).

Week 8
Specific Feedback: Independent learning week, no class.

Week 9
Specific Feedback: No need to use so many different fonts in my mockups (invoice &
letterhead), stick to the ones I have already used in the business
                                                     card.
