Task 3B : Brand Guideline

INSTRUCTIONS

TASK 3B

Task 3B : Brand Guideline

Task 3B is a continuation of Task 2 and 3 in Brand Corporate Identity, where we have
to create a brand guidelines for our brand. Since my brand (customisable perfume)
Dew & Dusk, reflects elegance, I wanted my brand guidelines to be minimalistic and
also sophisticated at the same time.

FEEDBACK

Week 10
Specific Feedback: Should rethink the orange used, Ms. Lilian said that it doesn't
really match my brand image and it clashes with the dark red.

Week 11
Specific Feedback: Shouldn't use justification for my body text as it created alot gaps
in the paragraphs. Ms. Lilian also told me to remove the word
'content' in my landing page as the next page is already the table
of contents. Ms. Lilian recommended to stick with a white
background against the dark red text, as it makes it more
readable for the entire Logo System part. Since I had a different
font size for every page, Ms. Lilian also told me to maintain one
font size for everything. She also told me to use more images in
my brand guidelines but try not to use the ones we made for task
                                                     3. For logo minimum size, I shouldn't screenshot it as the size
won't be accurate. Finally, my brand guidelines have to have
                                                     working navigation by next week.

Week 12
Specific Feedback: Ms. Lilian had reminded me that I have to include brand
personality and logos do's and don'ts. When I was showing my
brand guidelines to Ms. Lilian, my navigation wasn't working, so
she instructed me to double check it before I upload my work.

REFLECTIONS

Experience: This task has been a mix of challenges and growth opportunities. Each week, Ms. Lilian’s detailed feedback helped me refine my work and pay closer attention to aspects of design that I previously overlooked. Despite some struggles with consistency and technical issues, I’ve gained valuable insights into creating cohesive brand guidelines.

Observations: I observed that even small details like font size and alignment can significantly impact the overall presentation of a project. Consistency in design is crucial for professional output. The feedback also emphasized the importance of practical elements, such as accurate logo sizing and functional navigation, which are often overlooked in favor of aesthetic concerns.

Findings: Through this process, I learned:
                      - The importance of maintaining a consistent visual identity across all materials.
                      - The value of prioritizing readability and usability in design decisions.
                      - How to implement effective navigation for digital documents.
                      - The need to align design choices, like color schemes and font sizes, with the
                         brand’s image and goals.
