REFLECTIONS
Experience: Compiling all my work for this task felt like looking back on a long, detailed journey. Each exercise, from text formatting to grid systems, played a role in building up my understanding of publishing design. Seeing everything come together in the final printed book and brand guidelines was so satisfying—it made all the hard work feel worth it. It was like watching my ideas take shape and become real.
Observations: I noticed how much my perspective on publishing design has grown. What once seemed like tedious details—like alignment, spacing, and grids—now feels like second nature. It’s funny how those small things make such a big difference in the overall look and feel of a project. I also realized how much care goes into every part of the process, especially in creating something tangible like a printed book.
Findings: Looking back, I’ve learned that design is more than just making things look good; it’s about structure, consistency, and storytelling. Each choice I made, from font to spacing, contributed to the bigger picture. Compiling everything reminded me that even the smallest exercises played a role in shaping my skills and understanding. The journey wasn’t always smooth, but it was worth it.
